‡ Qsymia was studied in 2 large trials supporting FDA approval that involved 3754 patients whose BMI was 30 kg/m2 or greater, or 27 kg/m2 or greater with 2 or more weight-related comorbidities such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, or dyslipidemia. Patients were randomized to placebo, phentermine 3.75 mg/topiramate 23 mg, phentermine 7.5 mg/topiramate 46 mg, or phentermine 15 mg/topiramate 92 mg. In these trials, it was recommended that patients eat a well-balanced diet and reduce their caloric intake by 500 kcal/day. Your weight loss may vary depending on your BMI, diet, activity, dose of Qsymia, and other factors.1,2
In a subset analysis, patients with a BMI ≥30 kg/m2 taking the recommended dose of Qsymia (n=2076) lost an average of approximately 10% of their body weight, 24 lbs, and a 4 inch weight reduction after 1 year.1
You don’t have to try to lose weight on your own
You tried to lose weight by eating less, and it left you feeling hungry all the time. This constantly tested your willpower and left you feeling frustrated, because you never achieved any real weight loss.
Qsymia is an FDA-approved prescription weight-loss medicine that can work with diet and activity to help you lose 20 pounds or more and lose 4 inches or more off your waist. And keep it off!
- Qsymia works in two ways to help you meet your weight loss goals: Qsymia’s unique combination of of Phentermine and Topiramate in a once-daily pill can help you eat less by reducing your appetite and helping you feel more satisfied with what you have eaten. It helps you minimize snacking and overeating at meals and works throughout the day and evening to help you stay on track. The precise mechanism of action of the 2 ingredients on chronic weight management is unknown.
Qsymia is a product to help you lose weight. Losing weight can have a positive impact on other conditions, like lowering blood pressure, cholesterol and the risk of Type II Diabetes. Qsymia is not approved for the treatment of these conditions.
